

Previous practical experience operating and maintaining LAN equipment and/or previous LAN experience that involves electrical load planning experience is also highly desired. Practical experience in design, operations, and maintenance of LDAP-based directory services domains, virtualization environments, and network attached storage (NAS) is highly desired. A demonstrated understanding of personal computers, LAN architecture including routers, and wireless communication devices is required. Preferred candidates will have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other related Engineering fields, Physics, Math or equivalent experience with a minimum of 4 years' experience in the area of computer network administration. The candidate may also perform similar duties in support of the Boeing CST-100 and Orion vehicles. Additional duties involve providing operational support for the development, implementation, modification, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of spacecraft hardware and subsystems while ensuring the safety of both the onboard crew and the ISS. Related flight controller duties include writing ground and on-orbit procedures and documentation. As a trained PLUTO, the candidate will utilize the International Space Station (ISS) Ku-Band Communication System to conduct remote system administration functions onboard the ISS to manage the ISS Ops Local Area Network (LAN) Servers, the LAN Routers, the Space Station Computer (SSC) Clients, the Joint Station LAN (JSL) Routers, and other related wireless equipment. Specifically the candidate will train to be a Plug-in Port Utilization Officer (PLUTO). Candidate will progressively train and become certified for NASA Mission Control Center console positions. These duties require successfully completing a training and skill certification process.
